Gregory King holds an MFA from Southern Methodist University. He is also certified in Elementary Labanotation by The Dance Notation Bureau. He has performed with The Washington Ballet, Donald Byrd/ The Group, The Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Erick Hawkins Dance Company, and The Lion King on Broadway. Currently he serves as Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance at Swarthmore College and writes for several dance journals in the Philadelphia area. As a teacher, he is fascinated by the multi-cultural and multi-ethnic roots of various dance traditions and is eager to share their histories with students. Mr. King is a proud member of the National Dance Education Organization (NDEO) and the National Council for Black Studies (NCBS).
